The surprising thing is that “two” new episodes of the sci-fi animation series will air on the first day at 9 P.M. PT. However, Adult Swim airs the English version of the sci-fi series.

More intriguing details of “Black Lotus”

The new trailer of Blade Runner: Black Lotus gives a glimpse of some exciting details of the upcoming avatar in the Blade Runner franchise. Set in the year 2032, Black Lotus takes place amid the moments of the original Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2047. Moreover, it occurs ten years after the events in “Blackout”, slated for a 2022 release.

The NYCC panel included co-directors Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, along with executive producer Joseph Chou and others. They provided further insights on the next part of the Blade Runner series. Executive Producer Joseph Chou unveiled that the film explores a well-known Japanese movie theme: What makes a human?

He further explained how the luxury of 13 episodes helped them to create it such that it dwells deeper on the ideas of the franchise. This is something, which the previous animated films of the franchise couldn’t do. On the other hand, co-director Shinji Aramaki gave an insight into the Black Lotus’ plot. He revealed that the new series follows a female Replicant’s revenge story.
