BLACKPINK’s Lisa Breaks Two Guinness World Records with Her Debut Single “LALISA”

The single became the most viewed YouTube music video by a solo artist in 24 hours

BLACKPINK member Lisa set yet another grand record with her solo debut.

Lisa released her first single LaLisa, from her album of the same name, and it became the most viewed YouTube music video by a solo artist in 24 hours. The video garnered 73.6 million views within a single day. Right now, it stands at 225 million and rising steadily.

The song was able to top Taylor Swift’s single Me!, which came out in April 2019 and gained 65.2 million views in 24 hours.

Lisa becomes the third member of the K-pop band to make her solo debut. Earlier this year, her bandmate Rose became the first artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a soloist. She held the previous record for most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist. Now Lisa stands at the lead.

With this achievement, BLACKPINK is now featured in the Guinness World Records 2022 book in the social media section.

Lisa’s full name is Lalisa Manobal (born Pranpriya Manobal) and was born in Thailand. She grew up in her home country until she moved to South Korea in 2011. Later, she joined Jennie, Jisoo and Rose as the next BLACKPINK member before their debut album launched in 2016. Lisa’s area of specialty is rap music.

She has over 62 million followers on Instagram, and also has a YouTube channel known as Lilifilm Official. Behind-the-scenes clips of BLACKPINK are posted there, and the channel boasts over 8 million subscribers.

The group has won numerous awards, including a People’s Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award, and an MTV Video Music Award. BLACKPINK had held the previous Guinness World Record titles for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, and most viewed music video in 24 hours. However, BTS was able to break both records with their single Dynamite.
