Director of K-Drama ‘One Ordinary Day’ Starring Kim Soo-Hyun Discusses the Storyline, Lead Stars and Show’s Future

Based on BBC’s Criminal Justice, this is a series to look forward to

South Korean director Lee Myung Woo is currently busy with promotions of his new drama, One Ordinary Day. Formerly known as That Night, the drama is a remake of BBC’s Criminal Justice.

The remake stars It’s Okay to Not be Okay star Kim Soo-Hyun as Kim Hyun-Soo, an ordinary University student whose life changes forever when he becomes the prime suspect in a murder case. He will star opposite Cha Seung-Won. Seung-Won plays Shin Joong-Han, a lawyer who barely passed the bar exam and the only person willing to help out Kim Hyun-Soo, without even asking what happened that night.

Regarding the show, the producers teased that it brings a deep message in an era where people care more about comfort and convenience than justice. They call it a must-see drama.

One Ordinary Day is set to release in November, and director Lee Myung-Woo, who is known for works like The Fiery Priest, Punch, and Backstreet Rookie among others, sat down for an interview with StarNews.

Filming for the show began in April this year, and took five months to finish. They’re currently in post production, which they began immediately after filming. About his leads, he had high words to say.

He said that we will be seeing new sides of Kim Soo-Hyun and Cha Seung-Won with this one. He said that Soo-Hyun’s performance was detailed and had depth, as he displayed every emotions an ordinary student would show if he becomes the prime suspect for a murder.

As for Seung-Won, he cast aside his cool-guy image which he usually shows in his movies and series, and transformed into a shabby third-class lawyer who has never seen the limelight in his life.

One Ordinary Day will premier in Coupang Play on November. Check out the trailer below.
