Ed Sheeran Announces his New Album

Ed Sheeran is returning

Singer, Songwriter Ed Sheeran just loves his mathematical symbols. Hence, It’s no surprise the title of his new album dropping on October 29th is ‘=’ in other terms’ equal.’ He made the official announcement via his Instagram handle @teddysphotos.

Along with the announcement, he also introduced the album cover. Along with the ‘=’ symbol on a red backdrop, the cover had beautiful crystalized butterflies in hues of yellow and green.

The new album will consist of fourteen tracks one of which has already been released. The new song ‘Visiting hours’ rolled out on 19th August 2021. ‘visiting hours’ has made its way into the hearts of the fans in just a few hours.

Sheeran also went on to say how he experienced real grief for the first time in his life and penned down ‘visiting hours’ while going through it. He wrote the song for his dear friend Michael who passed away earlier in the year. For him, it is one of the most important songs on =. The live version was filmed in St. Stephens Church. Kylie Minogue and Jimmy Barnes performed the backup vocals.

One fan expressed her excitement, by saying she can’t wait for the next ‘math era’ of Ed Sheeran. While others couldn’t keep calm over the pretty album cover.

Ed along with the album reveal penned a lengthy note on Instagram. The latest album is available for pre-order across all platforms, Cd, Vinyl and Cassette.

Ed opened up about how he has been working on equal since June of 2017. While writing the album, he has grown and went through Love, Loss, Grief, new life and everything in between. He describes the experience as a ‘coming of age record’. The singer who is in his mid-thirties wrote, he has never been more proud of his work and was both nervous and excited for everyone to hear it.

His Single ‘Bad Habits’ has been topping the charts for seven weeks in the UK.
