The Witcher: Nightmare of the wolf film is based on the book and attributes made by Andrzej Sapkowski, a Polish writer. This is an action-Fantasy based film.
Like marvel, the Witcher also have their own universe. Created by Andrzej Sapkowski himself.
As the name suggests, the Witchers are the monster hunters. The nightmare of the wolf is the story of Theo James aka Vesemir. He grew up as a domestic worker in a nobleman’s house. Vesemir worked long hours for a very less amount of money. One day, he accidentally met a Witcher who encouraged him to leave the house and becomes a Witcher himself.
What hits the chord?
The plot of the film revolves around Vesemir and his mysterious world. After some time, a bizarre monster attacks and terrorise a rather weak kingdom. The kingdom also known as the continent. Vesemir enjoyed being a Witcher and always seeking new adventures. But this time it was terrifying to even for Vesemir. He confronts his own demons and tries to access the role he needs to play for the same.
The film’s story is rather complicated than easy. It could be a little too much for individuals who are not a fan of this action-fantasy based drama. But at the same time, it could be extremely fun for those who love such adventurous drama. In the film, there are no heroes; only witchers driven by a “few coins” and those in the world who dread and despise them.
Theo James played the character of Vesemir. He adjusted his voice as the young and old Vesemir with great ease. His voice had an impact on the audience and made them connect and feel empathy for him.
Mary McDonnell as the Lady Zerbst., a Kaedwen noblewoman who got her husband’s position on the king’s advisory council when he died while she was young and is a strong proponent of the Witchers.
Graham Mc Tavish played Deglan. He was like a father figure to Vesemir. He takes care of Jame’s tenor as well.
What’s the takeaway?
Lara Pulver did justice to the character of Tetra Gilcrest. Tetra was a powerful magician and was a descendant of one of the first wizards on the Continent. she and her disciples try to keep the Continent peaceful. they took care that nobody misuses the magic for their gains.
Overall the movie is a great watch for those who are more inclined towards action-fantasy based films.
