Whispers are true, Jodie is stepping down from “Doctor Who”

The 39-year-old actress was first induced in “Doctor Who” in 2017. Jodie Whittaker is the 13th incarnation of Doctor Who. Moreover, she was the first female incarnation of the Doctor Who. The British Sci-Fi “Doctor Who” first appeared in 1963 and ended in 1989 with the 26th season. The revived era of “Doctor Who” began in 2005 and is currently at 13th series which would be releasing soon.

Albeit, some whispers that say Jodie is set to step down from “Doctor Who”.

Jodie Whittaker took the step down

Jodie was the 13th actress of the show who has played the main character since 2017. She has always felt special for having the honour to play such a dynamic and iconic role. Jodie in a statement that she once opened a gift that contained shoes of size 13. She further added that she could not have imagined what exciting things the future is holding for her. She has transferred this role from Peter Capaldi in a special Christmas episode when Capaldi’s 12th doctor regenerated into Whittaker’s 13th doctor.

Jodie continued the role till 2020 in the 12th series until she announced that she would reprise her role in 2020. Finally, on 29th July 2021, BBC made an official statement calling it the end of Jodie Whittaker’s role as Doctor. It is confirmed new that Jodie has stepped down from the three special episodes in 2022.

Who will replace Jodie Whittaker in Doctor Who?

It is not yet confirmed but there are many names lined up for the next doctor. Chris Hewitt made a tweet with a John Reilly winking GIF and hinted a lot. But then he pretended that he was joking. Fans are also hoping to see Michaela Coel and British musicians be the next doctor.
