The epic finale begins on December 10
Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer of the sixth and final season of The Expanse. The announcement was made at the series’ virtual panel at New York Comic Con 2021. The cast and executive producers confirmed that there will be a total of six episodes, and will release on December 10. New episodes will release every Friday, and will conclude on January 14, 2022.
The Expanse takes place on a futuristic galaxy, and the system is divided by the governments of Earth, Mars, and the Asteroid Belt. But unknown to many is a bigger conspiracy, and alien technology is used to shift the universe’s power balance. James Holden (Steven Strait) and his crew aboard the ship, the Rocinante, gets involved in this conflict. Their job will be to save humanity before war brings their worlds to its end. Meanwhile, political extremist Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander) gets more powerful and bloodthirsty. In conclusion, the trailer shows that the most epic fight ever is yet to come.
The show also stars Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee, Frankie Adams, Keon Alexander, Nadine Nicole, and Jasai Chase Owens. The show is developed and scripted by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. Naren Shankar is the showrunner and executive producer. The other producers include Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck (the creators who wrote the original books under the pen name James S. A. Corey). Additional producers are Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, and Sean Daniel among others.
Season six synopsis
Season six starts with the solar system at war, and Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continue to launch deadly asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars. The crew of the Rocinante gets caught up in this conflict. However, Chrisjen Avasarala makes a risky plan. Former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper is then sent on a secret mission that could turn the tide of the war. Meanwhile, on a distant planet far from the Rings, a new power starts to form.
